Matt aka Stormageddon Neil is a brilliant folk rock performer. His music is equal parts fanciful and and worldly. This EP is like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket of music. Favorite track: Hooping.

Knobbies 05:15
"Knobbies" Copyright ©2008 Neil Fein In a circle, on the road, leaning left and bending forward, I'm hauling up my shoes and tools, a guy is yelling at a fool. I swerve to speed around the cracks, as freedom bags they pull me back I show no fear as I feel an 18-wheeler breeze. Chorus: Knobbies on the asphalt, Riding on the glass. Elbows, trees, my favorite knees Going eighteen on the flats. Knobbies on the asphalt, Shifting past the glass. Elbows, trees, a cooling breeze, Going eighteen on the flats. Gently going up a hill, the tar is hot, the air is still. At the top I breath real fast, but that there turn will be my last. A wide and poorly traveled street is paved potential O.C.P. A nearly smooth and nearly shady avenue, it’s all I need. Chorus: Knobbies on the asphalt, Riding on the glass. Elbows, trees, my favorite knees Going eighteen on the flats. Knobbies on the asphalt, Shifting past the glass. Elbows, trees, a cooling breeze, Going eighteen on the flats.

I’m sure that I will embarrass myself In the eyes of who I will be, In the distant days of the future. I wonder what it’s like that I’ll be Will I be in a strange place? I wonder if she will still be with me? Will I be wearing strange clothes? Will I have a ring in my nose? Will I ever write out my dreams? I know everything has to change, But there’s a definite range Of mes I’d rather not be. CHORUS: Now you go my way and then I go yours, Under the calendar, against the wall. I’m busy these days and you’re busy those, There is no time to do anything at all. We go to bed, Time runs ahead. When I’m looking back on these words, having absolutely no clue what I meant about "change in the future," I know I’ll still go on for too long Like new wave books that got wrong our flying lives in the future. For a while the seventies came, The eighties, they were a drain, The zeroes are coming to town. Everything around me has changed, The world it stopped or got strange. The eighties never again... will never be now. Repeat Chorus

We walk into a darkened room and we sit side by side; Watch the screen, don’t wanna miss the show. I make sure I seem relaxed as if I’ve nothing to hide; Let’s watch this movie go. Eyes up front, sit alone. Steal a glance as the story unfolds The story moves along, there’s romance and intrigue, We’re going on a ride. I start to care about these people on the screen As I look into your eyes. Eyes up front, watch the show. Stretch a glance as our two hands move close. What am I waiting for? I don't know... We sit and watch two people falling into love; That’s the way this movie goes. But they never show their stories in the rough, ’Cause then we all would know. Eyes up front, off the edge, Take a chance; now you’re holding hands, what’s next? What was I waiting for? Lyrics copyright ©2000 Neil Fein, all rights reserved.

An hour to go ‘till the front desk phones, the night still hasn’t ended yet. It’s dark and cold, I’m feeling old, I was warm when I went to bed. Watertight, I’ll see the light begin to look over the road. Rolled & packed, hung on the racks, then rolling east towards the orange glow. This page insists I have missed a turn a mile or so back. I’m in luck, I see a mail man, truckin’ over and I ask. Maybe you know of Valley Road, tell me am I at all nearby? Up ahead and to the left, he says and looks up at the cloudy sky. The sun is high, the winds, they were dying out a little for a while. But now it’s colder on this shoulder and I’m riding on for miles Straight on the line, and it's all mine, I’m off the ride, I know the way Chipped and faded, places aged, it keeps the cracks at bay: The rain is back, my maps are overfolded I think I know where I am now and I've got hours to go. The rain is back, directions blurred and soaked. I'm heading east and at the very least I've got hours to go.

about

Album trailer: youtu.be/d64z99WnSCg

The progressive folk EP “Epiphanies” contains realizations about travel, relationships, and my hobbies in the outdoors. They’re from different times in my life, about different relationships, different places, and different people.

Finding time to write music and record it has been a challenge. This is my first release and this EP is my first baby step. Thanks for listening!
